Grazie al grande impegno del nostro tesserato Dave Wolcott, da diversi mesi la divisione americana della Rodman Azimut Squadra Corse sta crescendo come numeri e risultati. E adesso iniziano ad arrivare le prime vittorie…
Dave Tucker, “Tuck”, joined the Rodman USA squad in the summer of 2017 as the new VP of the team. As part of his preparation for the upcoming cyclocross season, Dave assisted with the organization and leadership of weekly team training rides throughout Loudoun County, Virginia. The final tune up before the season kicked off was at the the Frederick Gran Fondo National Championship, where Tuck played the role of “domestique” for Rodman USA Masters rider Keith Saylor, leading Keith to his best ever performance and a 1st place finish in his age group! Encouraged by his thorough preparation and great form, Tuck kicked off his cyclocross season racing in the Mid-Atlantic Sportif ‘Cross Cup series Men’s 45+ division. But luck was not on his side, and the first two races resulted in no points toward the series championship as he was the victim of a flat front tire at the HUB Labels Cyclocross Challenge, followed by a broken rear derailleur at Sykelocross. But being a veteran racer, he remained patient and committed, and was finally rewarded with a 6th place finish at AACX. Knowing that he was on good form, he continued on with a 7th place at South Germantown ‘Cross, then a 4th at S’ville Bikes ‘Cross. Now sitting in 6th place in the series standings, he was close to moving up to a coveted top five spot on the final series podium. A personal best 7th place at the Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross Championships set the stage for one final race to try to make the series podium. At BikenetiCX, the final race of the series on 10 December, Tuck displayed a mastery of technical skill on a snow covered and muddy course, soloing off the front on the second lap to stay away for the win, which secured a 4th place finish on the final podium for the series. Bravissimo on a season well done Tuck! Only a few days removed from the last race of the season, Dave is already planning to ride for the series championship next fall and a chance to compete at the December 2018 USA Cyclocross National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, where he hopes to show off the new soon-to-be-released Rodman cyclocross bike!
